INFORMATION ABOUT THE RESULTS OF THE VIIITH MOSCOW INTERNATIONAL SALON OF INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY “ARCHIMEDES”

From March 15 to March 18, 2005 in Moscow, on the territory of the Exhibition center “Sokolniki” was held the VIIIth Moscow International Salon of Industrial Property “Archimedes”.

The organizers of the Salon were:

- Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation,
- Federal service on intellectual property, patents and trade-marks,
- Russian academy of sciences,
- Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation,
- Government of Moscow,
- Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- LLC “Soyuzpatent”
- VOIR
- LLC “CSTC “Archimedes”

At the Salon were exhibited 1150 objects of industrial property (inventions, trade-marks, useful models, know-how). Among exhibitors were 307 firms and organizations from 42 regions of Russia and from 15 industrially developed states.
The number of foreign participants was - 51 exponents, 96 objects of industrial property.
The largest collective expositions - Moscow industrialists and inventors - 170 exhibitors, 420 objects of industrial property.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - 150 m2, 250 objects of industrial property, 38 organizations.

At the ceremonial opening of the VIIIth Moscow International Salon of industrial property “Archimedes” were present:

- Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of science and industrial policy of the city of Moscow Panteleev E.A.
- Prefect of the Eastern administrative district of Moscow Evtihiev N.N.
- Deputy head of the Federal service on intellectual property, patents and trade-marks Korchagin A.D.
- President of the Moscow chamber of commerce and industry Govorov L.V.
- President of the Euroasian Patent office Grigoriev A.N.
- Deputy of the head of the department of arms of the army of the Russian Federation the general – lieutenant Miheev V.G.
- President of the European institute of promotion of objects of industrial property (Belgium) Milenko Manigodic
- Chairman of the Republican Council of the All-Russia society of inventors and rationalizers Manelis Y.Y.
- President of the union of inventors of. Zagreb (Croatia) Liliana Pedshic.
- General director of the federal institute of industrial property Nikitin A.V.

The exposition of the Salon “Archimedes –2005” was deployed in two pavilions ¹ 11 and ¹ 11.1 of the CVC “Sokolniki” (total area - 4500 m2).

In the course of the Salon activities the following events have been conducted:

- International scientific - practical conference “Role and place of legal protection of objects of industrial property in the innovation process”;
- Seminar “Motivation of innovations at enterprises”;
- Round table discussion “Usage of objects of industrial property and payment of authors’ fees;
- Seminar “Legal support of license operations between Russian and foreign partners”;
- Seminar “Patents, trade-marks and copyright in the USA. Registration: costs, time, possibilities of implementation”;
- Seminar “Promotion of objects of industrial property on the market of EU countries”;
- Round table discussion “Purposes and problems of the contest “Innovation potential of Russia”;
- Presentation “Innovation-implementation enterprise of E. Dergachov”;
- Presentation of projects of the Moscow Aviation Institute;
- Presentation of the firm “Panin and Co”;
- Presentation of the national delegation of the Republic of Croatia;
- Presentation of the national delegation of the Republic Serbia and Monte Negro;
- Presentation of the project “A way of obtaining a three-dimensional colour images”;
- Presentation of the national delegation of the Republic of Poland;
- Presentation of projects of the Children's scientific city;
- Presentation of the delegation of the USA;
- Presentation of the national delegation of the Republic of Iran.
The results of contests have been determined:
- The best invention of the Salon;
- Trade-mark “Leader of the XXIst century”;
- The best industrial prototype of the Salon;
- The best invention of children and young people;
- The first stage of the contest “Innovation potential of Russia”.

Besides for the high contribution to the development of science and technology the medals “Laureate of the Salon” were awarded to 16 participants and organizers of the Salon. The best of presented works were recognized the developments of OJSC “Severstal” and the Forum of Romanian inventors. They received the Grand prix of the Salon “Archimedes – 2005” – the “Gold Archimedes”.

Grand prix of the Salon have received:

- Association of Polish inventors and rationalizers for a series of original developments, presented at the Salon;
- LLC “Innovation-implementation enterprise of E. Dergachov for a series of original developments presented at the Salon;
- State educational institution of the higher professional education “Moscow state institute of steel and alloys” for a series of original developments, presented at the Salon and in connection with 75 years from the date of establishing;
- MMA named after I.M. Sechenov for a series of developments, presented at the Salon;
- Military-space academy named after A.F. Mozhaisky for a series of original developments, presented at the Salon.

The awards distributed: deputy head of the Federal service on intellectual property, patents and trade-marks – Shipkov Vladimir Grigorievich; president of the Moscow international Salon “Archimedes” – Zeziulin Dmitry Ivanovich; deputy director of the Department of state policy in the sphere of science, innovations and intellectual property of the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation Naumov Alexander Viktorovich; president of the Euroasian patent office Grigoriev Alexander Nikolaevich; the head of thr department of the Army Chief of Arms of the Russian Federation - general lieutenant Alfimov Sergei Mikhailovich.

Besides the participants of the Salon received awards and valuable prizes of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Diplomas of Rospatent, of the Moscow Government, of the firm “Panin and Co”, prizes, medals and diplomas from USA, Romania, Republic Serbia and Monte Negro, Croatia, Estonia, Poland, Belgium.

The contracts on interactions and cooperation have been signed between LLC “SCTC “Archimedes” and the Association of inventors of the Republic of Romania, Association of inventors of Zagreb (Croatia), the firm “Evro 011” of the Republic Serbia and Monte Negro.
In total exponents of the Salon have concluded contracts or signed protocols about intentions amounting to 750 million Roubles.

In the period of Salon activities it was visited by 5200 specialists from Russia and foreign states.
All mentioned above allows with confidence to state that the VIIIth Moscow International Salon “Archimedes” was a success with participants and visitors of the Salon.

The next Moscow International Salon of Industrial Property “Archimedes” will be held from March 28 to March 31, 2006 on the territory of the Exhibition Center “Sokolniki” in pavilions ¹ 11 and ¹ 11.1. The managers will ensure conditions of work and rates for services at the former level.
